Types of Sod We Offer - Missouri Turf, Inc. primarily offers three types of sod for the St. Louis market; Winning Colors Turf Type Fescue, Hybrid Kentucky Bluegrass, and ‘Meyers’ Zoysia. They also install Bermuda grass on athletic fields that will receive a lot of play during the hot St. Louis summers.
Winning Colors Turf Type Fescue - Winning Colors is an excellent fescue blend for the St. Louis area giving a look similar to that of bluegrass with lower maintenance. This is the turf that we are currently using on the majority of high end golf courses and custom homes.
Hybrid Kentucky Bluegrass - Bluegrass is one of the most commonly used cool season grasses in the St. Louis region. This type of sod is known for its dark, rich color, fine texture, and its cold and stress tolerance.
Meyers Zoysia - ‘Meyers’ has become the most popular of the zoysia grasses for the St. Louis area because of its consistent medium texture and high tolerances for hot and cold conditions. Zoysia is known for being able to self repair itself quickly, making it an excellent turf for areas receiving high traffic such as a soccer field or golf course fairway.
